gcc-5-cross-base-ports software package provides GCC, the GNU Compiler Collection (library base package), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcc-5-cross-base-ports
gcc-5-cross-base-ports is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcc-5-cross-base-ports package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcc-5-cross-base-ports *
